Spectra Logic, celebrating more than 30 years of data storage innovation, today announced it has been recognised at the 2011 Storage Awards (‘The Storries’) where its T-Finity product triumphed as the Tape-Based Product of the Year.
Now in its eighth year, the Storage Awards is where the readers of Storage Magazine reward the outstanding products, services and people in the storage industry. Over 25,000 votes were cast in the build-up to the awards ceremony at the Grand Connaught Rooms in London on June 23rd. Spectra Logic secured the prestigious award by outpacing drive and library product competition from Dell, HP, IBM, Oracle, Overland Storage, Qualstar, Quantum and Tandberg in the Tape-Based Product of the Year category.
“Spectra Logic has built its reputation on innovation leadership so it is a tremendous validation to be recognized by our users and the readers of Storage Magazine,” said Molly Rector, Spectra Logic’s vice president of worldwide marketing and product management. “This award demonstrates the significant momentum and mindshare Spectra Logic is gaining for data archives around the world, at a time when customers are demanding exactly the kind of scalable, cost-effective, long-term archiving capabilities that T-Finity delivers.”
Spectra’s T-Finity is the data storage industry’s highest capacity tape library, scaling to more than 30,000 slots without requiring a pass-through mechanism and up to 120,000 slots in a library complex. T-Finity offers the greatest slot density, strongest data integrity verification feature set and most comprehensive, easy-to-operate multiple-library management interface of any enterprise-class tape library on the market today.
