 — Matrox® Video is pleased to announce that it has appointed Global Distribution as a UK distributor for the full range of Matrox Monarch streaming and recording appliances. The Monarch range includes three models: Monarch HD professional streaming and recording appliance, Monarch HDX dual-channel encoder for broadcast streaming and recording, and the Monarch LCS lecture capture appliance which includes the Monarch LCS Radar application for the centralised monitoring of multiple Monarch LCS units. The Monarch range of professional video streaming and recording appliances are ideal for a variety of workflows including higher education, government, house of worship, broadcast, medical, and more.

“We are excited to have the opportunity to add Matrox’s award-winning, industry-leading streaming and recording appliances to our portfolio,” says Keith Warburton, CEO of Global Distribution. “Global are dedicated to delivering the best products and solutions available in the market, and we’ll be working closely with Matrox to enhance channel penetration to meet the growing demands of users.”

Matrox Monarch LCS lecture capture appliances include flexible inputs (SDI/HDMI or HMDI/HDMI), simplified mixing with integrated production layouts (picture-in-picture or side-by-side), and synchronised dual-encoding allowing for multi-stream playback, putting layout control in the hands of the viewer. The easy-to-use Matrox Monarch LCS Radar centralised monitoring application allows IT administrators to monitor organisation-wide deployments of Monarch LCS appliances easily from one intuitive dashboard.

Matrox Monarch HDX dual-channel H.264 encoders feature 3G-SDI and HDMI inputs with frame synchronisation to compensate for any discontinuity at the source. A versatile appliance, Monarch HDX is ideal for demanding broadcast workflows, including webcasting to YouTube or Facebook Live while simultaneously streaming or recording to a second location.

Matrox Monarch HD H.264 encoders include an HDMI input—for sources such as cameras or switchers—to generate an H.264-encoded stream compliant with RTSP or RTMP protocol. While encoding the video at bitrates suitable for live streaming, Monarch HD can simultaneously record a high-quality MP4 or MOV file to an SD card, USB device, or network-mapped drive.
