Global launch updated Infinity Archive appliance at IBC’09.

Infinity Archive, previewed at NAB this year, is an appliance that provides secure storage for digital assets by integrating high speed disk storage and reliable data tape in a package that allows easy access to content in a production workflow environment. Infinity archive is an easy to use appliance that integrates with all major Media Asset Management and workflow systems.

Media and entertainment organisations have traditionally created archives on analogue tapes. Although secure, these tapes are awkward to search and it is difficult to restore assets from them quickly. With the move to file-based production new possibilities have unfolded, allowing rapid searching and integration between the archive and workflow applications.

By combining cost-effective disk storage and secure data tape for both nearline and long-term archiving, Infinity Archive leverages new technologies to provide a secure, fast and easy to access archive. The Infinity Archive utilises industry leading software by XenData to create a digital archive that can scale from hundreds, to hundreds of thousands of hours of digital content.

Global will be demonstrating the Infinity Archive on their stand 7.C29 at IBC with Apple’s Final Cut Server software and are looking for specialist resellers and systems integrators worldwide to partner with us on this exciting new product range. Infinity Archive will also be present with XenData, Media Alliance, and TMD at IBC 2009.
