G-Technology by Hitachi have revealed the latest addition to the G-SPEED family of high-performance redundant storage systems designed for professional video and photographic applications, G-SPEED Q. The 4-bay desktop G-SPEED Q features a quad-interface providing FireWire 400/800, USB 2.0 and eSATA connectivity to a host computer, with two RAID configurations available, RAID-0 and RAID-5. Performance in the region of 200MB/sec is available through the eSATA connection.
The G-Tech G-SPEED Q is designed with creative applications in mind, specially designers, photographers and video editors requiring higher storage capacities on their desktop that meet the performance needs of their workflow, while simultaneously ensuring that their data is safe and secure. The compact and quiet desktop enclosure will be available in two capacities initially, 4TB and 8TB, with both models featuring the latest industry-leading 7,200 RPM SATA-II hard drive mechanisms by Hitachi.
G-SPEED Q debuted at the NAB show in Las Vegas, 12th April to 15th April 2010 and is scheduled to ship in June. Further information on the G-SPEED Q will be available soon within the
