G-Technology by Hitachi have used NAB 2010 as the platform to unveil new G-SPEED FC XL 8Gb Fibre Channel models to offer improved performance and cutting-edge connectivity to their hugely popular range topping G-SPEED FC XL models.
Designed for performance-intensive direct-attached applications as well as Xsan2/metaSAN (Storage Area Network, SAN) environments the new G-SPEED FC XL 8Gb models feature an 8Gb/s Fibre Channel connection providing throughput up to 700MB/sec for demanding creative workflows such as uncompressed HD and 2K workflows.
Built around an Intel IOP341 800MHz RAID processor the G-SPEED FC XL 8Gb will support RAID 0, 1, 3, 5, 6 and JBOD and is going to be available in the same 12-Bay (2U) and 16-Bay (3U) configurations as the existing 4Gb G-SPEED FC XL models with storage capacities ranging from 12TB to 32TB per unit, but also new to the G-SPEED FC XL 8Gb model is SAS expansion technology enabling systems to be expanded - by attaching
G-SPEED eS PRO XL enclosures - and scaled to 256TB!
The new G-SPEED FC XL 8Gb models will begin shipping May 2010. Detailed information will soon be available in the
